COURSES

 

When can I start?

Book your preliminary meeting today to check your level, set your learning goals and choose the day and time of your lessons. After confirmation from your teacher, you will receive the link to the video call for your first lesson.

How long is my lesson?

You can choose between a 45-minute lesson just for conversation and correction, and a 60, 75 or 90-minute lesson. The choice depends on your personal goals and preferences.

Can I renew my package at the end of the lessons?

Of course! Most of our students want to continue their course by renewing their package and many even renew from one year to the next because our teachers and the organization of our online courses successfully contribute to the achievement of the students' goals.

Are the lessons all 1:1 or do you offer group courses?

We also offer online group lessons. Contact us for more detailed information.

Is a certificate issued at the end of the course?

When your package is complete you will receive a final report from your teacher which includes the course content completed, the language level achieved and personal comments on your abilities and difficulties during the package. You can obtain an internationally recognised certificate by taking a Cambridge exam. We can prepare you for all Cambridge exams from A2 Key to C2 Proficiency.

Do I need to sign a contract?

The Abbiate English administration will send you a mini contract including all the necessary details for the package and a list of your lesson dates. Simply read and sign the agreement and confirm everything by email.

Will the course include any teaching materials?

The teaching materials for your course will be agreed after assessing your level and objectives. Your teacher can provide the necessary materials or you will use one of our international Oxford course books, which also gives you access to a wide range of digital resources.

TEST

 

How is the level test carried out and how long does it take?

Make an appointment in person or online with an Abbiate English teacher. Your level will be assessed through an informal oral test. It lasts less than an hour. In some cases where further analysis of the level is recommended, the student is also offered the online test in collaboration with Oxford to assess listening and reading comprehension skills.

Who will be my teacher?
Depending on your availability and needs, you will be assigned one of our expert online teachers. All our teaching colleagues have been carefully selected – they have an English language teaching qualification, teaching experience and online skills to ensure the best possible service. They are professional, friendly, and well-trained.

Teachers come from various English-speaking countries and can be based anywhere in the world. Their teaching station is approved for audio and video quality and the teaching content and student progress are discussed and monitored in frequent emails and meetings with Abbiate English head office.

PAYMENT

Can I try a lesson before paying for the entire course?

Absolutely. You can attend your first lesson without paying a deposit. Payment must be made by the second lesson to continue with the lesson package. Your first lesson is included in the cost.

​

How many lessons can I purchase?

You can decide your lesson package. The minimum number of lessons is 10. If you need a different solution, please contact us.

Can I pay the cost of the course in instalments?

Of course. You can agree on a payment plan.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Can I access the course from my mobile phone or tablet or do I need a computer?

You can access your lesson on the online platform from any mobile device and from any location. However, since you will need to share the teaching material on the screen during a lesson, we usually recommend a device with a larger screen such as a desktop or laptop computer.

What other technology is required for my online lessons?
A reliable internet connection, headphones or earphones with a built-in microphone and a working webcam. You have to download the online platform application to your device before the first lesson..

RULES

 

What happens if I miss a lesson?

The mini contract created by the administration for each lesson package includes all the necessary details such as the type of package chosen, lesson dates and payment plan. There is also a short list of rules to read to ensure a fully transparent agreement between the student and the school.

According to the rules, a lesson cancelled for any reason within 24 hours of the lesson time will be a "late cancellation" and will not be recoverable. However, during each package, the rules specify how many lessons can be postponed or rescheduled in advance for any reason without the lesson being lost.

What if I am not satisfied with my teacher/lesson/course?

Any such issues can be discussed in person or by email with the administration or management for a quick and satisfactory resolution.
